Easy Money from Albertsons
FOCL
has "Community Partners" cards with Albertsons. Please pick one up at the front
desk. A set has two convenient keychain cards. At the store, simply have
the cashier swipe this card during your transaction and the library
will receive 1% of the total amount of your bill.
We have
received our first check from Albertsons and it was wonderful! We hope
you will choose to participate in this simple way to help us raise
funds for everything we sponsor for the library.
Thank you!

Become a Friend
If you've ever checked out a DVD, used a library
database, attended a library program, met in one of the library's community
rooms, or simply sat down on the bench on the library's portal, you've taken
advantage of something that FOCL funds. Thirty-one years ago, Corrales
volunteers built the library, and the volunteer support begun then
continues today via FOCL's funding of each of the items listed above.
Partnering with the Village, FOCL ensures that your library is there for you.
Shouldn't you be there for your library as well?
There are almost 10,000 people in Corrales, yet
FOCL has fewer than 200 members. Be a
Friend and join us. Do your friends and neighbors belong? Please ask them to
join us, too. Give a gift of FOCL membership-membership levels begin for as little
as $15/year.Join us as a volunteer and
be a part of the Corrales Community Library's tradition of being the best
small-town library in New Mexico.
It takes a lot of volunteers to make a village. It's up to all of us.
We hope you'll join us as we enter 2010. The
Corrales Community Library is our library. We all belong.

Memories of Sue Ann
Sue Ann Kirkby, a long-time library volunteer and FOCL board member, passed away in early July. We will miss Sue Ann's energy, bravery, generosity, and optimism. Sue Ann remains in our thoughts and in our hearts. A memorial fund in her name has been established at the library.
Update: The memorial table in Sue Ann's memory has been built and is currently in use in the Reference Room.
FRIENDS OF THE
CORRALES LIBRARY - FOCL Our
Mission Statement:
The
mission of the Friends of the Corrales Library (FOCL) is to foster, enhance and
expand the library's unique environment, collections and programs for the
benefit of all Corralenos. FOCL achieves these
aims through fund-raising, endowment administration and community outreach.
Who We Are:
The Friends of the Corrales Library (FOCL) is the Library's fund-raising group
made up of local residents and supporters of the library. We are a non-profit
group with 501(c) 3 status.
Anyone may become a member with annual (Jan-Dec) dues available at a variety of
levels. Members receive quarterly newsletters and are invited to special previews
of book sales. FOCL's largest fundraisers of the year are the Harvest Festival
Book Sale and the Spring Silent Auction.
What We Do:
We provide funding for the library's programs and services and for
equipment, furniture and even maintaining the landscape around the
library. Many people are surprised to learn that the Village budget does
not fund the many special activities that make our library unique and special
to Corrales. The Children's Craft programs, the Family Summer Reading programs,
special guest singers, dancers, entertainers, new and replacement furniture;
all of this and more is funded by the Friends of the Corrales Library.
How We Do It:
Through membership fees, donations, fund raising activities (including
managing the book sales), soliciting contributions to our endowment fund,
selling merchandise and any other ways we can imagine.
How You Can Help:
Join FOCL - Donate to the endowment fund -Support and attend our
fundraisers - Buy FOCL merchandise -Volunteer at the library.
