Sign ups for the Summer Reading Program start on Monday May 13th!
Summer Reading Programs
Come spend eight weeks with the Corrales Community Library during our annual Summer Reading Program. Sign-ups begin on Monday May 13th, and when you sigh-up you get a free book bag.
There are multiple exciting activities going on as part of the program. First and foremost is the literacy aspect of the program. There will be reading logs for all ages of youth readers to turn in to the library on a weekly basis. We will be giving away various prizes each Tuesday based on reading log entries, so have your reading logs for the week turned in by 7 p.m. every Tuesday for a chance to win.
Ask a librarian for a stamp card. A stamp will be put on your card every time books are returned on time. When five stamps are reached a gift can be taken from a gift bag.
Tuesday night performances (7-8 p.m.) will be held outside in the amphitheater when weather permits, and when weather does not permit performances and activities will be held inside the library. Bring your whole family and a picnic and enjoy some great entertainment and activities.
Friday teen programs (1-3 p.m.) are for ages 13 and up only please.
June 7th and June 14th (sessions 1 and 2)design groups will work collaboratively to come up with no more that 4 art designs that they will then have the opportunity to Screen Print onto t-shirts on June 21st (session 3). Please sign-up for this as we will cap enrollment at 15.
Ideum will hold a Science Café talk on science and art career paths, as well as provide an interactive and experiential opportunity to see what Ideum does and how their technologies are being used in different sectors.
Iphone-ography is lead by Carol Mell who will show you what is possible in the world of photography and image making. So if you have an iphone or are thinking of getting one this is going to be a really creative, fun, and enlightening class.
Calligraphy is offered and taught by Bella Robles.
