Special Events for All
ELAM (Latin American School of Medicine)
is a major international medical school in Cuba and a prominent part of the Cuban healthcare system.Established in 1999 and operated by the Cuban government, ELAM has been described as possibly being the largest medical school in the world by enrollment with approximately 10,000 - 12,000 students from 49 countries reported as enrolled. All those enrolled are international students from outside Cuba and mainly come from Latin America and the Caribbean as well as Africa and Asia. The school accepts students from the United States. Tuition, accommodation and board are free, and a small stipend is provided for students.

an artful life
hosted by director, Steve Palmisano
Betty Sabo devoted most of her artistic career to creating oil paintings of New Mexico landscapes. Later in life, she became a sculptor. Her pieces are on display at the Albuquerque Museum, the Basilica in Santa Fe and UNM. Throughout her career and life, Betty used her artistic endeavors to benefit the community.
Palmisano’s film captures the many facets of the life and work of this important artist, art activist, philanthropist, mother and wife. The filmmaker will be here to introduce his fifty-five minute documentary and to answer questions after the screening.

Mysterious New Mexico: Miracles, Magic, and Monsters in the Land of Enchantment

Mysterious New Mexico is his seventh book. He has also published over a thousand articles on a wide variety of topics including urban legends, the paranormal, critical thinking, and media literacy. Ben is Corrales' own "skeptical inquirer."

Saturday Stitch Club
Join our drop-in stitching group every 2nd Saturday of the month at 10:30 in the Southwest Room.
If you enjoy knitting, crocheting, spinning, or any fiber arts craft, this is the group for you!
Work along with other creative people and finish those projects you have had tucked away.
An experienced knitter will be on hand to answer any questions and help if needed. Bring your own materials to work on.
